At a Career Crossroads

When you know something needs to shift, but you’re not sure what that something is.

You've built a career that looks right from the outside. The problem is how it feels from the inside.

Perhaps you’ve reached a level of seniority that many would consider an achievement but something doesn’t quite fit. Perhaps there’s a decision ahead of you, a logical next step that everyone around you expects you to take, and you can’t quite explain why you’re hesitating. Or perhaps you can’t point to anything specific at all, only a nagging sense that something needs to shift, and you’re not sure what.

People come to me at very different moments. Some have just been promoted and are struggling with who they need to become in the new role. Some feel trapped by assumptions about success and failure that have driven them for years but no longer feel like their own. Some have hit a wall without quite knowing why. Some know exactly what’s wrong but feel unable to change it. Others believe they know what they want yet fail to get it.

What I offer

Most clients come to me with a career question. What unfolds however is rarely just about career.

We begin with whatever has brought you here: a decision you can’t make, a role that no longer fits, a sense that something needs to shift. From there, the coaching usually moves into wider territory. We might explore who you are, what you value, how you relate to others and to yourself, and what might be getting in the way of the work and life you want.

Clients have described this as work that gets “well below the surface to address the issues that are really at play.”

The coaching is holistic meaning that it tends to affect more than just your career. As one client put it, “I changed not only my job but many other areas of my life for the better.

What shifts, over time, is not just your thinking about your career. It is your relationship to yourself, to your work, and often to the people around you.

How we work together

We begin with an initial session that runs a little longer than the rest, giving us time to understand your situation properly and explore what has brought you here.

The coaching moves through a recognisable shape, even if the route is different for every client. I will offer you a way of understanding your current situation, how you see yourself, how you see others, and what that is making possible or limiting for you. This is not to judge you but to help create a window from which you might see yourself more clearly. From there, we work toward a different story, one that opens up new possibilities rather than confirming old constraints. One where your values and way of being are more aligned.

The between session work is as important as the sessions themselves. It is designed to deepen your self-awareness and give us something concrete to work with. This might be a journalling practice, a small behavioural experiment or simply paying closer attention to something in your daily life. What you bring back from those observations and practices is often where the most useful work happens.

Clients often tell me they barely notice the changes as they happen. What they do notice is that things are different. One described it as something that "seeped in and worked." Others speak of a shift in mindset that proved "invaluable and transformative." Of feeling more empowered to make bold choices. Of changes that extended well beyond their career into other areas of their life.

A minimum commitment of six sessions allows the work the depth and time it needs. The early sessions lay the ground. The later ones are where much of the movement happens.

The aim is not for you to become reliant on coaching. The work we do together is designed to help you build your capacity to understand yourself and navigate your own development once our sessions have ended.
